Administrator is the very first user account created by WordPress during installation to login to the backend and make changes. It is the most privileged account with all the powers to make blog level changes.

Administrator can add or delete WordPress users if needed, install themes, install plugins and control everything from the dashboard.

How to create a new admin account

To create a new user as an administrator, see the steps below.

  • From your WordPress dashboard, go to Users > Add New
  • Add new user details in required fields and choose Administrator under Role.

Its always a good idea to stay with only one administrator account as much as possible
